What is UN Certified Packaging?
UN-certified packaging follows strict international safety standards established by organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These regulations, outlined in the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, help prevent pollution, contamination, and hazardous exposure during shipment.
All UN-certified containers undergo rigorous safety tests, including
- Hydrostatic Tests
- Drop & Impact Tests
- Stacking Tests
- Vibration Tests
Each package is marked with UN certification symbols, a packing group designation (I, II, or III), and a specification code that indicates compliance.
